You can use the above pictures to complete the lab. For the questions on the blackbody spectrum, use the stellar spectra link. The temperature of the blackbody emission increases from low (at the bottom) to high (at the top). Ignore the vertical black bars in this spectrum (for the blackbody section), and note that the stellar spectra image does NOT reflect the intensity change with temperature.
The worksheet linked to above has the values we measured in class on Tuesday already entered. Follow the remaining instructions to complete.
Answer the questions on page 2 on a separate paper, stapled to the worksheet.
Complete Part I before class on the 15th and bring it to class. Part II on the back page will be completed in class along with the lecture and then turned in.
If you were not in class on Thursday, complete questions 1-4 using the 8 galaxy images linked to above, and then use the "two new galaxies" images to answer question 5. This assignment will be turned in in class on the 5th.
If you need a balloon/string, you can grab them from me in my office.
